Lyla will be turning 1 on Saturday. Where has the time gone? It seems like yesterday that we brought her home from the hospital and wondered what our life would become with this new addition to the family. It has been the most wonderful, hard, stressful year yet but we wouldn't have it any other way. There have been some big changes in all of our lives since Lyla blessed us with her being. Not only are we now 3, we moved back to the US, are looking for our first house, and settling into a completely new place and job (for Cory). Boy, that doesn't sound like much but it sure does feel like a ton.
Lyla and I decided to take a trip to Atlanta last week to visit all the Prince's and even some Dunford's. We began with a birthday celebration where Lyla got some ice cream cake and some fantastic gifts. I think she misses her activity table though. We will have to claim that during the Thanksgiving visit.
We also discovered that Lyla loves dogs, especially those of the beagle/basset type. She loved Jessi to but, unfortunately, Jessi wasn't feeling so well and we put her to sleep while we were there. We sure do miss her.
So the plan for the birthday weekend is lots of fun. First we hope to visit Great Aunt Diane, Great Grandma and Grandpa Leonard, and Grandma and Grandpa Eicher. Dad may have to work some over the weekend so Lyla and I will have to have some mom and baby time. On Sunday we will have some family photos taken and hope to get Greenville Farms to play and see some animals. Somewhere in there will be some cake and gifts too. Can't wait!
